THE REASON BEHIND GRACIE DAYS
Marilyn Ducote Meaux, my mom "Birdy" is the reason I pursued photography, & also the person who shaped me. To know my mother was to know Jesus. You could feel so much kindness in her presence. With a loving heart & a strong mindset she could do anything she set her mind to. With an extraordinary eye for detail & a calendar filled to the brim with birthdays. She had a unique way of making everyone feel special. A super mom to 7 children, and a source of inspiration to those who knew her. Original artist, A Jill of All Trades, a witty optimist, & a great caretaker to humans, critters, & flora. Some of the many Meaux children will even admit to faking sick because she was such a great nurse. One of her last wishes was to be a Child Welfare Social Worker.

A QUOTE THAT HUNG IN OUR LAUNDRY ROOM THAT SHE EMBROIDERED & FRAMED WITH LITTLE CHICKS. SHE HAD 7 OF US. The OLDER I BECAME, THE MORE I FOUND MYSELF LAUGHING AT IT. HER HUMOR WAS ALWAYS PG.
